The financial planning process can be overwhelming. The Certified Financial Planning© Board defines the financial planning process with six steps. Each of those steps can be an endeavor in and of itself. When we put together a “plan” we are attempting to implement each of those steps even though they may not be evident in the final product.
In an effort to make the process more “approachable”, we are attempting to break the process down into “modules”. Currently, the modules (which are listed on our website) are:
- Investment and Retirement Planning
- Stewardship Coaching
- Cash Flow
- Investment Allocations
- Charitable Giving
- Passing on to the Next Generation
- Education Funding
- Tax Planning
For further explanation of each module, please see our website. And again in an effort to make things more digestible, we have also grouped modules into bundles as follows:
Stewardship Coaching Bundle
Investment Allocation and Management
Passing on to the Next Generation (Estate Planning)
You know better than anyone where you need help. The structure is an effort to concentrate on the areas you think most important. We are not increasing our area of expertise as much as delineating the process to make it more approachable.
If indeed we are entering a “low return” era where performance in the stock market is not going to cover up financial mistakes, attention to one’s finances will be all the more critical. It will not be a matter of how much you make, as it will be how much you keep. Our goal is to help you be the best steward possible of your assets. To our current clients, hopefully we have addressed most of these issues. For your friends and acquaintances, hopefully this is a good way for us to begin to come alongside them on their personal financial journey.
