I have over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Maybe more importantly with three daughters between the ages of 16 and 24, I understand all too well the stresses of raising a family, providing for college, while preparing for retirement.
I have seen clients and close family members deal with the results of poor financial decisions. These avoidable mistakes have shipwrecked lifelong plans. In addition, I personally had life-threatening surgeries to remove a non-malignant “pseudo-tumor” from my brain stem. I have been given a clean bill of health; however, the experience impressed upon me:
- the need for a proper emergency reserve,
- the need for proper insurance,
- the need for financial leeway and
- an appreciation for time.
I am passionate about helping working families live fulfilled, God-pleasing lives by addressing their financial situations and planning ahead for their future.
I did my undergraduate work at Texas A&M and received a M.B.A. from the University of Texas (since I have been to both schools, I know which one is best. Just ask me!)
I am a Certified Financial Planner® professional and have the Enrolled Agent designation (from the IRS). These licenses help me to stay updated on the latest techniques and challenges affecting my clients.
My wife Karen and I are the proud parents of three daughters and prouder still of our grandsons.
Bill Robertson (who retired after over fifty years as a financial advisor) was instrumental in mentoring Richard in the financial services business.
Sandy Capani ensures the office runs smoothly. Not only does she coordinate back office functions, she interacts with clients with various requests.
